Beatrice Ehrsam, DVM

As many of our faithful clients know, Dr. Beatrice Ehrsam ("Dr. Bea") has been part of the New Paltz Animal Hospital team since 1993. She grew up in Hurley, New York, and currently resides in the New Paltz area. Dr. Bea attended Cornell University for both her undergraduate and veterinary studies. After graduating from veterinary school in 1990, she worked for many years with Dr. Allen Schoen, an internationally renowned veterinary acupuncturist. Thanks to her hard work and dedication, New Paltz Animal Hospital is able to offer its patients holistic services of the highest quality.
Dr. Bea's veterinary medical specialties include acupuncture, veterinary orthopedic manipulation, Chinese and Western herbs, nutraceuticals and nutritional supplements, as well as glandular therapy. She is able to provide preventative health care as well as alternative and complementary options for many chronic illnesses, including cancer. She is committed to enhancing the optimum health and loving relationships between people, animals, and the earth.
Outside of work she enjoys traveling, dancing, hiking, biking, cross country skiing, and practicing QiGong, yoga and meditation. Dr. Bea lives in a geothermal and solar green house with her tuxedo domestic shorthair Bagheera and terrier mix Bodhi.
